Elsa Mroziewicz

ELSA MROZIEWICZ is an illustrator, writer, pop-up engineer, director and character designer. She studied at Strasbourg’s H.E.A.R. She’s interested in everything relating to poetic and dreamy atmospheres and decors, and likes to play with the limits between fiction and reality. Her colourful universe is also enriched by her passions such as cinema, music, mythology and ethnology but also by her dreams, her encounters and her travels in Mexico, Yemen, India, Indonesia, Thailand and more.

Elsa has created numerous illustrated books and animated Pop-Up books, and has been published in France and Germany as well as distributed internationally. In 2013 she won the ART BOOK WANTED’s BEST INTERACTIV BOOK award in Prague for her book Cannes 08.09 which combines comic style and Pop-Up. Her artist books have been exhibited in museums, fairs and media libraries in Europe, for example in Prague at the B1 Center for contemporary design, in Italy at the Milan Design Week or in France at the Sonneville Museum and at the André Malraux media library in Strasbourg.

In 2016 she has illustrated the book Yoga Für Kinder/Animal asanas published by Prestel.

In 2018 her unfolding triangular children’s book Peek-a who ? was published by Minedition in Germany, in France, in the USA, in the UK, in Italy, in the Netherlands and in China. It received a lot of enthusiastic feedback such as the Wall Street Journal Best kid book of 2018, or from News & Observers or The Kirkus reviews as well as some awards.

In 2019 Mango Jeunesse publishes her book « Mes activités Pop-up » and the sequel of her triangular board book Peek-a-who too ? comes out.

Elsa also works on the autobiographical graphic novel and on several transmedia projects. She has published an enriched digital book NORD SUD about parallel mythologies in collaboration with the writer Cécile PALUSINSKI, the artist Saba NIKNAM, the composer Jean-Paul LE GOFF and the webmaster Michel RAVEY. Along this joyous team , she’s preparing the concept of an animated short movie which will be the continuity of the NORD SUD projet.

She also directs animated stop motion films for music videos, documentaries, and for personal projects.

She offers training courses on Pop-Up book, on PAO softwares (Photoshop/Indesign) and on the creation of digital EPUB books with Indesign, for professionals as well as beginners.

Since 2013 she’s regularly involved in conceiving and giving creative illustration and Pop-Up workshops about the world mythologies in schools, cultural structures and museums.
